Gee, I read that title wrong! Thank God for editors! A Straw Assembly’s I Crawled In Through A Buttonhole is a lovely piece of indie-folk melancholy.
It almost sounds like a play put on by children for adults. The singing looks meant to accompany a walk through the woods, while the instrumentation guides the mystic journey. By the end of the “la la las” of the outro it feels like the main character is joyfully being eaten away by quicksand.
