Blondie tease boxset release in 2021

Legendary New York punk and new-wave group, Blondie, have teased the release of a box set compilation next year.

The group shared the information via social media by simply stating “Blondie archival box set coming August 2021. Get ready.” No further explanation was given about what the collection is set to include, or the formats in which it will be released.

The band has been quite active in recent years. In 2017 they released their last studio album to date, titled Pollinator. They supported the album with tours and several festival appearances.

The group was started in New York during the mid-1970s. They are recognized as one of the most important bands to have been involved with the original punk rock boom.

The Debbie Harry-fronted band enjoyed tremendous success throughout the decade with albums such as Parallel Lines and Eat to the beat that showcased their interest in new-wave, reggae, and pop music.

In what has been, perhaps, the best description of the group’s work and influence, Iggy Pop once referred to Blondie as the best pop band that heavily utilizes the guitar.
