Darrel William Herbert – To Your Side (Review)

Darrel William Herbert - To Your Side

Lyrically “To your side” plays like a declaration of friendship from some kind of endlessly boozing companion. Musically, it rings loudly like an undiscovered lost gem by the Byrds.

In this single Darrel William Herbert plays the cheerful friend or neighbour, reassuring you of their allegiance. Heck, they even go so far as to promise sneak in some whiskey as a means to fight the cold. Mr Herbert is not your man for long mountain trips.

From a musical standpoint, this single makes sense. Darrel William Herbert is an ex-member of the Toadies, a very pleasant alt-rock/power-pop group. From the vocal harmonies to the guitar solos and melodies, this is very well-crafted guitar-pop.
