The day that an actor wins an Oscar award is the day when many people stand up and applaud. But the day that they go to jail, fall on their face because of their heels, or lose their house because of gambling debt, is the day that people really start talking about them.
The fact of the matter is that most of us hate the ones that are effortlessly successful. It’s even worse if these subjects of our ire manage to flawlessly do something that everyone else struggles to master.
Rock stars that write hits have plenty of people who hate them. But they’re on a trajectory toward fame and success that most of us can only dream of. Theirs is the power to convince great numbers of people to buy into their stories. That’s quite special.
The Paddy Cakes’ “Posterboy” is a familiar indie-rock that has all the attributes to be a hit. The Paddy Cakes have the qualities to distinguish themselves from their many peers. And, even though their musical ideas may not sound too exotic the first time that you hear them when placed side by side with their rivals, they help The Paddy Cakes win out.

What do vicious criminals planning to rob a bank listen to just before they burst into the door with guns blazing? Sit in the car in silence, chewing gum? I doubt that they’re as composed as that. I doubt anyone is.
They’ll probably be listening to some kind of high-octane rock n’ roll. Punk-rock might seem the most appropriate route. But what if they want punk rock with a bit more sophistication? That’ll get them heading through some dark alleys of Spotify. What about if the head of the gang really likes Queen?
They could all get into a heated argument and blunder their bank robbery. Fortunately, if their taste in music is that precise and important to the success of the heist, they might use De Forbandede.
De Forbandede’s “De Grådiges Kor” is gloriously over-the-top punk-rock music. It’s punk that could be converted into a stage show in future years. It’s punk built on musical complexity and fantasy. And it could certainly, power a bank robbery if needed.
