Defoe – Black Metal Romance

Defoe - Black Metal Romance

If you’ve clicked on the article spurred on by the title you are soon to be pissed off. Black metal is not the genre that Defoe, modern music producer from LA, is covering here. And, for the record, neither is Black Metal the most extreme genre around by a country mile.

No, Defoe sounds like a man with a great record collection, and a fetish for all things either too retro, or too modern. Black Metal Romance sounds as if the producer has managed to revive the spirit of Nancy Sinatra, and persuaded her to sing on what sounds like the intro to a complex rock-opera set in the future. Defoe knows how to make an entrance!
