There’s very little about the modern world that’s romantic, isn’t it? And how are we even supposed to find something like that when all we ever do is stick our heads into a bunch of screen lights all day long?
The tech isn’t likely to go away or become less of a part of our lives than it is today. How would the world’s biggest companies be able to make a living if that ever happens? But the problem of a lack of romance is about to persist.
How about we call a truce? Why don’t we just settle for what we have and integrate the lights from the screens into our romantic fantasies instead? That’s what the always charged and amped up Fractal Caravan do.
“Deep Into the Future” may sound like garage-rock played by musicians who are about to pass out from heat exhaustion. But it’s also a SciFi tale of time travel and AI falling in love with rock n’ roll as a means of acquiring a soul. It’s a retro futuristic classic, I tell you.
Shark School – Don’t Trust a Man
At the end of it, nothing makes much sense, and there’s no point in imagining things are going to get better. If you really are trying to get yourself to fall into a depression, just look up global stats detailing violence against women and then ask yourself if things are better, worse, or the same as they’ve ever been.
Politicians, religious figures and everyone wth any power’s got better things to do. Speeches are made to pacify us. Fancy papers and big books are written just to make us feel like the problem’s being studied. But the violence hangs in the air. The world doesn’t make sense, and all of that anger and confusion deserves a soundtrack. Shark School are providing it.
“Don’t Trust a Man” is as much a direct protest song as it is a Dadaist punk song. The song sounds, at the same time, as a desperate plea to you and as an aggregate of all the anxiety of the world. It’s an honest reflection of reality and a good measurement of just how people feel about all the supposedly good things being done for them. Nothing ever changes for the better. Not really! And Shark School’s “Don’t Trust a Man” is a song protesting silly optimism.
