Shannon Larkin, the highly respected drummer and member of Godsmack, has shared updates about the band’s plans. He says that fans should not expect a new studio album earlier than 2022.
Larkin appeared on The Metal Teddy Bear Experience where he made the comments. He says that the band has chosen to regroup in Florida where they have also put in the work of building a new recording studio.
The drummer says that the work has eaten up some of their time. However, he says that fans will know what to expect. Larkin told the host of the podcast, that Godsmack albums tend to arrive in cycles of four years.
Godsmack’s last studio album was 2017’s When legends rise. The album and subsequent tours were received well by the group’s loyal fan base. Two of the singles released from the reord, Bulletproof and Unforgettable also performed very well on the Billboard charts.
Shannon Larkin is a highly respected rock drummer. Beyond his work with Godsmack, the musician has also collaborated with the likes of Ugly Kid Joe, Amen, and Candlebox.
