Green Day will be donating $2,000 to help restore a fast food restaurant ravaged during a local hardcore show.
The show in question was performed by Santa Ana, California band WACKO. The Denny’s in question was a local restaurant that hosted the group’s concert. (Should be noted that Denny’s since denied knowing of the concert)
The show, clips of which have gone viral, caused damages of more than $1800 to the venue. Owners of the resturant requested that the group members pay for the repair.
The group was forced to try and gather the funds through online donations. The famous pop-punk band Green Day reacted to the campaign and decided to finance the repairs themselves.
It should be noted that this is not the first time Green Day has opted to help punk-rockers in need. The band also donated money to the famous venue Gilman Street where the group played in their earlier days and from which they were notoriously banned once they achieved international success.
