Some folks get by and their looks, or brains alone. In music, some get by on songwriting skills most of all. That’s the case with Hurdy Gurdy Men. If you haven’t picked it up from the Donovan reference of their moniker, this is a project obsessed with the folk-rock classics.

Blueberry Girl is assembled in that tradition, like a song that could have belonged to any of the singer’s great musical heroes, and just happened to end up in his back pocket.
