I like the verse to this tune. Secretly, I seem to think that all soft piano ballads are bound to feature something like this. I usually end up disappointed.
There’s poetry to this song, and it’s hidden in the singing and the atmosphere woven throughout the song. In fact, the line “I cherish the day you moved by the river” is so well delivered that it could easily be the only lyric of the tune and the final product would not be missing anything.
