Joey English – Haven’t Been Myself (Review)

Joey English - Haven't Been Myself

Joey English provides here a tender PTSD anthem. However, the lyrics and the fetching video, present a man learning to live with discomfort rather than one finding himself screaming at the walls.

Musically, on “Haven’t been myself“, English sounds inspired by the indie folk sounds popular during the last decade, which in turn were influenced by the Laurel Canyon songwriters of the late 1960s.

Haven’t been myself” is a fetching single, a folkie pick-me-up song about the lingering effects of mental health issues.
