The Laurel Canyone crew of the 1970s sure knew how to write a gentle song. What’s sometimes forgotten though is that, despite their often shabby appearance, these songwriters loved to take themselves very seriously.
LIA ICES’s HYMN (yes, it’s all in capital letters) shares a bit of that. This sounds like a prayer for endless summer, which, I am told a lot of people would love, but I personally find hellish.
It’s beautifully sung and has the a video reminiscent of Lana del Rey.
