Me First and the Gimme Gimmes

Punk-rock supergroup, and purveyors of wonderfully cheesy cover, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes announced plans to stream a live Christmas show.

The group includes members of several well-known pop-punk bands such NOFX, Lagwagon, Swingin’ Utters. Most of those groups are/have been active on Fat Wreck Chords, the record label headed by Fat Mike, singer for NOFX.

The group released their debut album Have a Ball in 1997. It included punk rock versions of famous pop songs. They’ve released albums semi-frequently since then. Most of their follow-up albums featured a theme used in selecting the songs that ended up being covered.

Their last album of newly recorded material came out in 2014 and was titled Are We Not Men? We Are Diva! The group have been less active live since then. However, a tour is rumored to be announced Spring of 2021.

The Christmas special will take place this Saturday evening and will include events across the weekend. Belly Reynolds will host it, while Shannon Shaw of Shannon and the Clams and Karina Denike of Dance Hall Crashers will be among the guests.
