The neighbours chat in the hallways, they gossip, and they can’t seem willing to forgive anyone who’s ever put a foot wrong. In fact, do anything slightly eccentric in this day and age and you are more than likely to become the subject of these whispered talks and mean ridicule.
There are those, like the rockstars, Phileas Fogg and the true romantics, who remain entirely indifferent to the words spoken behind their back. The rest of us care enough to make an effort not to stand out too much. Tall poppies have no place in the modern world, but that’s exactly for whom Michellar, the musical project of Michelle Bond, issues the song “Intersection.”
Everyone wants to avoid gossip, but, by the same token, nearly everyone would gladly give up half of their life and most of their wealth for a few brief moments of an intense love affair that makes reality seem to blur and makes onlookers peek underneath their breath.
“Intersection,” a song that features the talents of Toby Wilson, is a lovely song about delirious romance. Using a pop format and teasing Celtic folk influences, “Intersection” feels like the unapologetic pop-rock track designed as a future wedding song. The vocals are tender and blend well, the chorus explodes like Spring’s flowers across a green field, and true love makes everything alright regardless of what the neighbours might say.
