moby

Producer, singer, songwriter, Moby, has shared his fun cover of Search and destroy by proto-punk heroes Iggy & the Stooges. Members of the covers group Punk Rock Karaoke performed the song’s instrumental parts.

Punk Rock Karaoke is, for the most, a touring band performing a cover of well-known songs belonging to the genre. The band encourages audience members to get up and perform the songs’ vocals.

With live shows currently on stand-by the musicians opted for an innovative way of interacting with fans. Recently, they performed songs together through the medium of online conferences.

Moby is not the first to join the group in this way. Art Alexakis (Everclear) previously performed on a version of California Sun, a song made famous by the Ramones and the Dictators. Max McGrath (Sugar Ray) helped the group perform Pretty Vacant by the Sex Pistols.

Moby is a heavy advocate of punk and alternative rock even though he is primarily associated with electronic dance music, In the past, he namechecked groups like Suicide and Bad Brains among his biggest influences.
