Mushroom Pudding – Candle

I used to take great comfort in the fact that rock musicians were nothing like regular people. They didn’t wear the same clothes as all of us. They didn’t speak in the same way or have the same dull activities. And because of all of this, the music that they wrote came from a place that folks like you and me could never access. Weirdness had opened the doors!

But I was mistaken. And, I’m happy to admit it. Not only are rock musicians forced to buy cartons of milk from the same supermarket as the rest of us. Musical artists like the alt-rock project of Mushroom Pudding know that they can work with languages that the vast majority of us easily and immediately understand.

Yeah, as it turns out, rock musicians are average Joes possessing an extraordinary ability to talk about real people with real problems and solutions and making all of us feel included. “Candle” is a grunge-sounding alt-rock song about feeling lost and finding ways out of the maze. It’s a sound, in fact, designed to resonate immediately with fans of this genre. And the songwriting itself feels like it could apply to just about any one of us. Frankly, I’m glad we can have all of this in common.

Los Potholes – Corre

Yes, you’re right! There’s a whole other world out there waiting to be discovered. But once you’ve found it, you’re bound to have trouble, at first, with getting around. It’s not built on the coordinates with which we’re now accustomed.

Los Potholes have just returned from a long stay in those parts. But there’s no GPS to help you get to where you’re going, and hardly any signs to show you the way. There are no shopping malls either, and you can’t use your phone for entertainment.

This world can be found in old movies, recordings from the 1950s and, of course, in the theatre of your very own imagination. It’s hard to know if this place exists at all, or what language is spoken down there. All we know is that people are making the journey every day.

How about that? Los Potholes have found the secret entryway. This is fantasy punk-rock. “Corre” is an energy-filled, reverb-soaked sound meant to soundtrack desert lands where muscle cars run at top speeds, where everyone looks cool, and where the drummer can break into a Latin rhythm on command. It’s a world worth imagining! And, The Potholes are giving you the queue to join in.
