If you want to make yourself positively optimistic in just a few seconds, realise that there are thousands of shrines all across the world dedicated to artists, actors and sports stars. And, best of all, the vast majority of them weren’t built with taxpayer money, and no city councils had to vote on them. How many for politicians, kings, or accountants that are not commissioned by their own families? None!
Whether it’s Lennon or Maradona, Sophia Loren or Marley, ordinary people took it upon themselves to decorate walls with their likenesses, create sculptures of them, and carve lyrics into city streets.
And, why do all of that when nobody even makes you do it? Because all of these people were ordinary and showed others how to make their lives extraordinary. Creativity and courage can still change the world and, certainly, begin by transforming the person chanting the spell.

This is the spot where singer Mysty finds herself as she contemplates redemption and metamorphosis on delightful new single “New Life.” It’s here and now that the singer dares to ask herself not “How can one change?” but rather, “Why would one not want to change?”
The easy-going, pop-rock melancholy of the music is inspired by formative years spent singing in bands or witnessing the brilliance of daring risk-takers like Björk or Cyndi Lauper, singers who’ve become standard-bearers for boundary-pushing in pop music.
Mysty knows that there is magic to be discovered. In every town and city, there are hopefuls looking for reasons to build their own shrines to artists who seek to shed light on the extraordinary. “New Life” is a song about having the bravery to go searching for those things.
