Neo Dimes – Trigger
Are you feeling tired and downhearted? Has the world really got to you, and do you barely feel like a human being anymore? You might just need to move. No, I’m not suggesting running away. Not immediately, at least.
You see, we humans are hard-wired to want to move our bodies and try to find some kind of harmony inside of them before we’re able to suggest any solutions involving our brains.
And never forget that this is both a recipe and a freedom that you have and that nobody can remove. All those movies and social media posts about trendy-dressed, smiling teenagers dancing in nightclubs may have put you off, but doing that is entirely natural and helpful.
Need to dance and face your demons at the same time? The excellently crafted “Trigger” by Neo Dimes is the late-night soundtrack that you need. The instrumental may sound like Trent Reznor reinventing disco music, but the lyrics carry a lot of bite. This is music about the things that push us into destructive choices and the solutions available to us.
Zimmer Grandioso – rat county
The greatest spies are the people who make everyone else open any door that they wish. What do the greatest spies look like? What do they sound like? Of course, they look and sound like everyone else.
But, most importantly, they don’t look and sound just like one different person that they can easily impersonate. They have the ability to switch between parts in a manner that even Marlon Brando would’ve been envious of.
Swedes would make the greatest spies. What does Swedish music sound like? For the most part, it is the greatest American, English, or German music that sounds. Usually, you’re unable to tell them apart, in fact.
Zimmer Grandioso makes alternative rock that you’d swear has to have been released on some cool American label back in the 1990s. The band’s quirky, emotional, and well-produced music, best enjoyed with the single “Rat County,” is a throwback to a time that doesn’t quite exist, lives only in imagination, and is created in a studio in Gothenburg.
