Major Moment – The Flood
There’s hard-rock and metal music about soaring high over your adversaries. There’s metal about dragons and wizards. Then, there’s rap-metal, like Major Moment, that sounds like the soundtrack to a high-school fistfight. (Not that we’d encourage that).
The Flood is well-produced and warrants a listen. It sounds like the end-result of some micro-tinkering meant to get the tune to a point where it can compete in the same arena as the Linkin Parks and Bring me the Horizons of the world.
Zach Bellas – One way out
Zach Bellas doesn’t sound ready to endanger anyone in a fistfight. But, as corresponding Allman Brothers Band-like title would suggest, there’s an edge here.
Mr. Bellas plays as if he grew up on southern boogie, and AM radio guitar solos. This is far from the Stevie Ray Vaughan you hear old hacks hammering out at the local watering hole. This is actually good!
