PEST – O121DO1
On the one hand, everything is terrible while most people, in Western countries, at least, have everything available to them. That’s not the promise that the great economists made when they described lands of unimaginable prosperity.
On the other hand, most aren’t complaining, and those who do raise their voice, you have to expect, do it for the show, the likes and because it’s their job. Frankly, when’s the last time that you heard a decent protest song from a famous singer?
It’s all down to the musical underground once again. The only real question is how long songs like PEST’s “O121DO1” are bound to be left outside of the attention of the mainstream, just out of sight from the regular public.
Everyone’s hurting nowadays, and few are shouting about it. Maybe they’ll find some hope in the punk and modern metal-influenced “O121DO1,” the sound of British band PEST, who is actively protesting violent authority and oppression. The duo is of the opinion that orders are about the breakdown soon, that we know who’s to blame for it and that there’s something we can do about it. If you find yourself in agreement, PEST might be one of the brands for you.
TREASVRE – Cherry Red
If you’re lucky, you’ll eventually find yourself screaming poems at the Moon, or crying desperately in the blistering Summer Sun. If you’re unlucky, you’re life will be much more balanced and safe from these kinds of potentially embarrassing events.
But look for them! Take the chance! How will you know what you’re looking for? More often than not, if the poets and philosophers are correct, it’s got something to do with falling in love, an act that, unlike what you may have heard, takes a bit of effort, or certainly willingness.
TREASVRE’s musicians have found it, and they feel no shame in shouting at the moon or crying in the Sun. Just kike some of the other artists whose minds were twisted by this mysterious force, the results justify the effort.
TREASVRE’s “Cherry Red” is a song about infatuation, about the lack of control that this creates. Pop music, when it’s good, works in much the same way. That’s why this pop-rock song makes its hooks count and lets the emotions run high. If love is everything, then it always needs a proper soundtrack.
