Shabason, Krgovich, Tenniscoats – Departed Bird

The news only gets told to the world by news reporters and people who somehow happened to be there and have a big enough social media account so that people will take notice. That’s an awful shame.

It used to be that people wouldn’t believe a certain place existed until some great painter travelled to it and cast it in colour. It used to be that people didn’t trust that an event had happened until some great writer travelled to it and told the world about it.

Shabason, Krgovich, Tenniscoats prove that the world needs a bit more poetry, especially when it’s wholly unpoetic things that need to be described. Where are we left without it? In a typical cycle that never seems to end.

We’re told that much of the music of Shabason, Krgovich, Tenniscoats was born out of spontaneous improvisation. A good deal of the music was inspired by a tour of Japan. And, while listening to “Departed Bird,” you can hear how the sound here is just an impression of the artists of the world around. It’s the equivalent of a reaction video, just one with more poetry to it.

And what does the music say about the world? Plenty! You just need to get the right sort of people telling you about it!

biatlón – weather diary

Music is one of the greatest tools for remembrance that we have. It’s up there with the favourite smell or the taste of the kind of cookies that your grandma used to make. And that’s one more reason to try to take good care of the kind of music that enters our lives.

Let’s leave some room for bands like biatlón. Remembrance, after all, is not something that comes naturally to most of us, and neither does enjoying ourselves in the moment.

In fact, when all is said and done, the majority of people can only find happiness once the moment has passed and the opportunity to properly celebrate has elapsed. It’s not fair, but it’s the way that our minds tend to work.

Want to jump back into a fairytale-like moment that you didn’t appreciate the first time around? You might need a good soundtrack for it. biatlón’s “weather diary” is dream pop for all the people who missed out on the brightest days of Summer and who have realised that taking advantage of them now is simply a little too late. “Didn’t it use to be so beautiful? Didn’t we hear such gorgeous music?” Sure did!
