Guns n’ Roses guitarist, Slash, recently talked about the sad passing of Eddie van Halen, whom he thinks could have shined playing absolutely any instrument.
Slash discussed his friendship with van Halen and his admiration for the guitar player’s musical abilities. The Gn’R guitarist praise van Halen’s abilities as a musician. He believes that the virtuoso player could have been terrific laying any instrument.

He chose guitar because that’s what turned him on. And for somebody with that kind of musical talent, to get turned on to rock ‘n’ roll guitar was sort of unique unto itself because most of us guitar players are a ragged bunch of rock ‘n’ rollers who don’t have too much technical ability or schooling
The guitar player says that their were many facets to Eddie Van Halen’s talent. He praises late-musician’s vision and capacity for executing it. In that respect, he compares his friend to the legendary jazz musician Les Paul.
Besides this, Slash says that van Halen was a great innovator managing to create sounds on the guitar that few had ever heard before.
Eddie van Halen tragically passed away on October 6th, 2020. He is best remembered for his work as lead guitarist for the hard rock group Van Halen. They were one of the best-selling bands of all-time. The group released their multi-platinum selling debut in 1978 and played their last concert together in 2015.
