Tim Freitag – Monsters Forever (Review)

Tim Freitag - Monsters Forever

We rarely give it a thought, but isn’t it rather amazing that indie-pop is a genre and not a contradiction in terms? While some indie acts are busy arena-sizing their tunes for maximum festival crowd impact, some are drawing their dark, danceable vibe from post-punk’s fertile pond.

Tim Freitag is such an act. The Swiss group are all about tension, dynamics, pleasing, soaring vocals, and an understanding that not all audiences are willing to dance the days away. Many are waiting for the night to come.
