Trabants – Hot Brew

Audiences have been told that if they’re to stay hip, young and connected to what’s going on in the cool scenes, they gotta switch allegiances every few months or so.

If they fail to do that, it’s been explained to them, they will not be able to understand pop music, they won’t be able to keep up with the trends and, most tragic of all, eventually, they’ll end up just like their parents. What a tragic fate that would be!

But, this is all just fear-mongering! Perfect ideas don’t deserve to be chucked away, replaced, or even altered in the slightest. Trabants have a band name that suggests retro passions and fashion and a sound of a similar ilk.

“Hot Brew” is music for those who know that getting lost into a haze of retro psychedelia is still the best way to find yourself. This is music for people convinced that when they listen to a song and close their eyes, they must be transported to a different, much more colourful world. Trabants know that the past never leaves us.

Rei Mart – L’Hèlix

The best thing that you can do right now in order to change your mood whenever you are in your house is to fill it up with strange artefacts and bizarre mementoes. Don’t make the mistake of getting things that actually have a purpose! And, as much as you possibly can, don’t start getting the kind of things that even make much sense.

Go for posters written in languages that neither you nor any of your friends will ever be able to understand. Start collecting books on the languages of angels or the secrets buried inside the architecture of the cathedrals! Do everything that you can to spread a bit of mystery over your day-to-day life.

If nothing else, Rei Mart can work as one of those exotic artefacts. That’s certainly the direction in which the single “L’Hèlix” is pushing. This is psychedelic rock propelled by fuzzed-out electric guitars, music worth hearing while keeping your eyes closed and while allowing your imagination to lead you to whatever realm it chooses. Rei Mart makes life a little less predictable, and because of that, you need this in yours.
