Tugboat Captain – Day To Day

Tugboat Captain - Day To Day

Writing sad bastard music isn’t as is as easy some would claim. Crawling into bed with a gallon of ice-cream is much easier! Still, even more courageous, is powering through it all and writing a deceptively joyous tune about your experience.

That’s what Tugboat Captain does here, on Day to day, as he details the tiny scraps of misery that form the routine activities of a particularly bad period. Clever lyrics lead the confession, while Beatles (slightly off-key vocals) slide over a musical arrangement that could easily have ended up as a folk-punk tune.

Chin up, Capt’n! You’re doing great!
