Veers - Dial (Live 2020) alt77 review

Veers bring back two art forms risking extinction, the live single and the live performance. “Dial” is a well-executed indie rocker, featuring the confident urban stride of trip-hop inspired 90s Britain.

The comparison with the darker sounds of Cool Britania is no accident. Veers is, in fact, an English band exiled to sunny Los Angeles, yet carrying some of the moody, damp weather with them.

The group are extremely confident, almost to the point of exaggeration, but there’s a good reason why they should feel this good about their chances. One feels that the decision to promote a live single is not an accident. Rather it’s a means to tell the world that, free from studio trickery, Veers are able to produce a well-rounded sound and provide an enduring performance.
