Attics – Comic Sans
Genre: Indie Rock, Indie Pop, Alternative Rock

When it comes to rockstars it’s hard to estimate at precisely what time some of them became wise. Was it when they knocked down the parties, the drinks, the romance? Was it the moment that they opted to buy a synth? Or, did it happen somewhere around their third marriage?
Maybe it’s when even the rock stars agree to make themselves look and sound smaller. This is something that occurs in all areas of life. Many spend the first part of their lives desperately trying to get noticed. They then spend the rest fighting against it.
The sound that accompanies Attics’ Comic Sans draws from that well. Attics sound like rockstars who’ve purchased a farm and are looking to make the best out of recording directly into a computer. The songwriting is clever, it has something to say and you’ll need to strain to really hear it.

Modern music will do anything to get and retain your attention. Tricking your perception and your senses is never out of the question. Alt-rock music is the trickiest to figure out as it makes the best use of pieces of information that others would discard.
I’ve come not to rely on expectations when it comes to at-rock music. Still, there’s one thing that I do know and it’s that a song titled “A-Ok” performed by a British can’t be a happy song. The Brits have a special kind of melancholy, they’ve cornered the market for it, and, to paraphrase Tom Waits, they’re raising the quality of our misery.
Wohn’s A-Ok might embrace melancholy, but has no time to mess around. This is a driving, well-produced rock that’s ready to take your head off with the hooks it wields. It’s what grunge might have sounded like if the Seattle groups had stuck around and found a love o modern production techniques.
