Tiblinski and Saturn Split release new singles

Saturn Split – BAC

Athletes are told to enjoy their golden years while they last. Experience can add a lot to their choices in whichever sport they’ve become professionals in, but there are certain things that, normally, they will only be able to do when they are young and at the absolute peak of their physical powers.

Anger can work in much the same way. Sure, pensioners aren’t often the most cheerful of people. There’s plenty to complain about the world as it, especially with ageing playing a dirty trick on you. But, the true, righteous, or demented anger of youth cannot be manufactured and best be enjoyed along with the strength of youth.

Take Trent Reznor, for example, a man who clearly the folks in Saturn Split force themselves to listen to like Buddhists checking out the Dalai Lama’s latest podcast. Sure, he’s won an Oscar and is one of the most respected musicians of our time. Yet, nothing can compete with the sheer strength of an early album like the Downward Spiral.

BAC by Saturn Split is a lot like that. It’s not so much a song, as much as a mental breakdown. The vocals and repetitive lyrics work perfectly here. If I have just one qualm, it would be that the singer can get angrier. You like in the U.K. for Christ’s sakes. Surely there are reasons to keep you up at night. With that being said, this is a single that shows great potential.

Tiblinski – Cohen Records

Robert Plant once told a reporter that he had always felt the blues, even as a young man. The reporter went on to ask him what was the worst part about having your heartbroken. Mr Plant, in typical God of the lemon squeeze-fashion, answered that it’s always a drag when the woman runs off with your record collection.

The great singer may have been exercising his famous bravado, but he also seemed to be speaking from experience. Yes, cynical as it seems, love affairs come and go, but a truly great record collection could just be a once in a lifetime deal.

Tiblinski is another man who has suffered in this regard waking up one day to find his favourite Cohen (Leonard I presume) vinyl stolen. A quick investigation seemed to point to his neighbour as the culprit which made Tiblinski break down his door in anger. While the neighbour ended up proving his innocence there’s no word yet on what the artist did about his Cohen records or his short fuse. Sound pop-punk tune, but wouldn’t wanna live next to this guy. Yikes!
